About PODCAD
Podcad Industries was formed in 2018 as we saw a gap in the market to provide high quality orthotics using the latest technology. Our combination of scanning, designing and manufacturing, help simplify, speed up and improve accuracy and outcomes - all of which have been tested within clinical practice for over three years.
Behind the Scenes
Michael Furmaniak is a qualified podiatrist and is Director of Design and innovation for Podcad Industries.
Michael graduated initially from the University of South Australia in 2004, with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) and later in 2008, with a Bachelor of Podiatry. His love of all things biomechanics flowed into his private practice, building a successful business working with both elite athletes and regular sportspeople for a number of years. In 2011, Michael began tutoring at the University of South Australia - his main role involving teaching the final year students the orthotic manufacturing process. It was this involvement which led Michael to follow his passion in creating custom orthotics, using comfortable, light weight and durable materials that stand the test of time, to help both Podiatrists and their patients achieve relief from painful symptoms.
In recruiting long term friend, Mathes Pugsley, as head of manufacturing and machining, in 2018 the dream became a reality and Podcad was born.

DIRECT MILLED POLYSTONE

Part of the Polyethylene family, Polystone (P7000 ast) material is very similar to traditional polypropylene in its feel and function. Perhaps with a little more flex, it is lighter in weight and finished in a matte black making it a go to for just about any orthotic application.
DIRECT MILLED EVA

After years of researching, we believe we have found a great EVA product. Ranging in densities from 90 through to an extremely firm 450, we have all bases covered to ensure the best possible EVA device. Routed in a neat full-length piece, our devises ensure limited bulkiness and excellent fit to patient footwear.
